From the Principal

Dear parents and caregivers,

The end of term 2 is rapidly approaching. Sports teams are trying to get in some final practices for the zone field day next Wednesday. You are welcome, of course, to support our teams. All games will be held at Bruce Pullman Park in Papakura, starting at 10.00am. There will be the customary Papatoetoe schools’ rivalry and it should be a great day. All of our schools have many talented students in the sports arena, for sure.

From The Principal

Dear parents and caregivers,

Yesterday’s event was a great success with all students participating in our PCS mini Olympics. The structured activities were wonderful and I would like to thank the WYNERS team and Counties Manukau Sport for their support and involvement. A special thank you to Peter Robinson and the year 6 students for organising the programme and managing the day. A message wall was set up and children were invited to send our Olympics team a “go for it” type of message. Many very encouraging messages were added throughout the day!

From the Principal

Dear parents and caregivers,

Thank you for your support for our professional development day last Friday. The focus was on developing our capabilities in the teaching of reading with understanding, which is our curriculum development area this year. We worked with a well know specialist Sheena Cameron, and we all agreed that her contribution was very helpful and inspiring. In addition, a number of our staff took workshops in the afternoon in a variety of other learning areas. I would like to thank Sue Fidler, Renu Naidu, Angela Stonestreet, Danielle Greer, Kirsty Paterson, Ellyce Best, Lena Erakovich, Dev Singh, Alex Hanson and Peter Robinson for sharing their expertise with us. It was a very worthwhile day of professional learning for us all. All staff at our school were involved, including all our wonderful learning assistants. Many thanks to all concerned.

From the Principal

Dear parents and caregivers,

Included in this week’s newsletter, for your information, is a summary of the highlights from the 2011 annual report presented at the recent annual meeting. I think you will agree that we had a very productive year. This year is shaping up in much the same way. There are always plenty of activities underway to keep us all busy – both students and all school staff, in the best possible way.
