Dear parents and caregivers,

As this is my last newsletter of the year, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all the best for a very happy Christmas and warmest wishes for 2013. We are all enjoying the sight of our beautiful pohutukawa tree coming into full flower on the St George St boundary – it is magnificent and suggests a long hot summer that we are already enjoying. I am sure that many of you have spotted it!

Dear parents and caregivers

We welcomed our year 6 students and staff back to school on Monday after their wonderful week at camp. Many students have told me how much they enjoyed the kayaking, in particular – (oh and the food….) Our year 1 students have enjoyed a visit to Ambury Farm this week and our senior students are working with some forensic scientists, arranged by our science and technology specialist, Lena Erakovich. It is a very busy and exciting time for everyone.

Dear parents and caregivers,

The term is racing by and teachers are completing end of year assessments and students’ reports. I am delighted with the progress that most students have made over the year and I am looking forward to seeing all reports for signing, shortly. All our staff have worked very hard to ensure that your children have reached their optimum achievement levels.

From the Deputy Principal

Dear parents and caregivers, Kia ora, Namaste, Ni Hao, Talofa lava, Kia orana

I hope you are making the most of the longer evenings even though the weather is a mix of the seasons at present. It is assessment time again! Standardised tests will be taking place in reading, mathematics and spelling over the next weeks. The results of these tests will be recorded on the end of year reports our teachers are beginning to prepare already.
