Dear parents and caregivers

Firstly, I would like to acknowledge your support last Saturday. It was really great to see so many of you at the PTA fair and we hope that you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did. Sincere thank to all helpers and to everyone who contributed. One of the main goals was to involve our community and share in some fun with you and your children. I thought the children’s train was just the best – and I suspect that parents and caregivers enjoyed the ride around the field as much as the children did!

Dear parents and caregivers,

Week 7 – another busy and exciting week at Papatoetoe Central School. We are now over halfway through Term 1. As I visit classes, it is very pleasing to see the students very focused on their work. They are able to talk about their learning and describe their next learning steps. A good question to ask your child or children at the end of the day is ‘ What did you learn at school today?’

Dear parents and caregivers,

It was great to see so many of you last Thursday evening to meet your child’s teacher and to talk about the year ahead. We have had a wonderful start to the year and feel very excited about our planned learning activities for your children. Please keep in touch with us regularly. We really appreciate a phone call if there is something we need to know about and similarly we will contact you if we need to meet with you. Our teachers are happy to chat informally with you before or after school, but if you need a formal meeting, that can be easily arranged at a mutually agreed time.

Our students involved in patrols duty have had a refresher training with Constable Tee. Tomorrow the year 6 classes are on a trip to Omana Beach and the year 5 classes are going to MOTAT.
