Dear parents and caregivers,

It was great to welcome the children back on Monday. We have had a very positive start to the third term as the children seem really happy to be back at school and enjoying the wide range of learning opportunities available to them. I have spoken to teachers about maximising learning opportunities every minute of every day for your children. This is a very important term and we will be working hard to achieve all student achievement targets. As always we will appreciate your support.

Dear parents and caregivers,

Mid Year Report: Today you will be receiving your child’s mid year report. As you know, we have done a lot of work in our school to develop consistency between the NZ Curriculum levels, the associated literacy and numeracy stages, nationally standardised test results and the government’s national standards. We have done our best to align all of these, but we continue to feel concerned about the lack of validity and reliability where national standards are concerned.

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Our focus this week has been on finalising mid year student reports and I am very pleased overall with the reports that I have signed, to date. There is clear evidence of your children working very hard and doing their very best at school. The reports will be sent home to you next Thursday, 11 July.
