Year 3 Newsletter

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Welcome to the Kakariki team!Kakariki

As we head into the year the children are already busy learning lots of new exciting things. They have settled quickly into their classrooms and are now familiar with their class routines.  The children have been reunited with friends from last year as well as making new ones.

This term our value is PCS. Being PCS means to be polite, considerate and sensible at all times, with a strong emphasis on manners.

Our curriculum focus this term is:

Reading: Reading for information, developing skills to read words and interpret visual information.

Writing: Recount, Information Reports, Topic writing

Maths: Measurement, Geometry, Number, Problem solving

Physical Education: Small Ball Skills, Fundamental Skills

Topic Study: Fiji 

Uniform: Children are expected to always wear the correct uniform.

Attendance and Punctuality: Please ensure your child arrives at 8.30am, no later than 8.45am.If your child is going to be absent please ring the office.

Lunch: Please ensure your child brings a healthy lunch to school. No sweets or fizzy drinks.  We encourage the children to drink water rather than sugar drinks.

There are many exciting things happening this term and these are outlined in the school’s newsletter and on the website.
