Year 6 Kereru Newsletter Term 4

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Welcome to the last term of your child’s primary schooling!Kereru

We have a lot planned for this busy term and our teachers are working hard to make sure it is a memorable one for our Year 6 students.

This term the Kereru team will be learning about Festivals and Celebrations. We look forward to celebrating Diwali and Christmas and learning all about the importance of different festivals and celebrations among different cultures. At the end of the term and before school holidays we will have a timely focus on Road Safety. The children have all got an individual writing goal that they will be working on this term. You could ask the children to share these with you. Our maths focus is a final push in number knowledge and  problem solving.

Papatoetoe Central School is a health promoting school so we would like to remind parents not to send along lollies, cakes or other treats for birthdays.

The biggest event of the year is fast approaching and we would like to thank parents and caregivers again for all your help and support towards camp this year. We will all be busy preparing for camp in the weeks leading up to Week 6. Please see your child’s teacher for any questions you may have regarding camp.

After camp Year 6 students will turn their focus to Graduation. The Graduation dinner is always a wonderful time for students and teachers to dress their best and enjoy a special meal together. The final graduation assembly will be held on the last day of school. We welcome parents to come along to celebrate the children’s time at Papatoetoe Central School and enjoy their final send off.
