From the Deputy Principal

Dear parents and caregivers, Kia ora, Namaste, Ni Hao, Talofa lava, Kia orana

I hope you are making the most of the longer evenings even though the weather is a mix of the seasons at present. It is assessment time again! Standardised tests will be taking place in reading, mathematics and spelling over the next weeks. The results of these tests will be recorded on the end of year reports our teachers are beginning to prepare already.

Happy Diwali: We had a lovely Diwali day on Tuesday. It was great to see the students in their beautiful traditional dress. Many of our school staff also wore traditional Indian clothing to celebrate with our students.

Fundraising: The money raised from our spellathon earlier this year, together with the more recent calendar art fundraising, has been targeted for the purchase of special boxes of books for each classroom. Thank you for your support with both of these projects. Your continued support allows for extra resources to be purchased for each of our classrooms.

Market Day: Our Market Day last Friday was a wonderful success. The students proved to be intrepid shoppers carefully selecting their purchases. A grand total of $1480.10 was raised and this will go toward our 2013 gardening and environment projects.

Hei ano te whetu e tu nui, kotahi – a tatou tamariki
There is only one star shining – our children

Have a lovely weekend with your special children.

Kind regards

Susan Fidler
Deputy Principal
