25 October 2012

From the Principal

Dear parents and caregivers, Kia ora, Namaste, Ni Hao, Talofa lava, Kia orana

It was great to see many of you last Friday at school for our 2012 whanau morning. We all enjoyed your participation in both the singing assembly and classroom programmes. We look forward to next year’s whanau morning, already!

School Athletics: We have had a superb sports day today with some outstanding performances from very promising athletes. With the Olympics fresh in our minds, it was great seeing all students go for gold. Thank you to parents, caregivers and grandparents who came to enjoy the day with us.

Congratulations to Year 5 Student, Ashley Porter: Last weekend Ashley competed very successfully in the NZ Tae Kwon Do competitions in Palmerston North. Ashley won a gold medal for sparring and 2 other silver medals. You are a star, Ashley and we are all very proud of you.

Sun Smart time: Just a reminder that it is essential that children have a school hat to wear during break and PE times at school this term. These can be purchased at school.

Market Day, Friday 9 November: 2.30pm – 3.15pm for parents: You are very welcome to come along to the market at 2.30pm. The PTA will have a 2nd hand (pre-loved) clothing sale.

All the best for another lovely spring weekend – no doubt many of you have your summer gardens planned and underway. I am sure your children would love to have their own small garden to nurture, or maybe even a couple of potted plants to take care of.

Kind regards

Marilyn Gwilliam

Parents, if your child/ren are participating then we do ask that you join the parade with us.
